On the other side of any story therein lies an author; and for many of us these unseen people are much of an enigma. Merely extrodinary people with a gift to draw you into another world. I have often picked up a book and have been completely transported into these other states, and when the book was finished became even more interested in the characters, which has lead me to the authors commentary. There in the commentary one can see how the process of the book evolved and became, how it was born from someones inner thoughts and research.
Today, we are not only able to be engaged in literature, but engaged with the author. When you are lucky enough to find that one of your favorite authors is blogging, you can derive even more from their literary work. And this is the case for my husband and I, we can find David King, a nationally and internationally published author of "Finding Atlantis", blogging now. It is a rare opportunity to be able to read and keep in touch with what is going on in his world. I highly encourage anyone who has a favorite writer to research and see if they provide an online journal these days. You can find David King at: www.DavidKingOnline.blogspot.com

He is gorgeous!!!

I have been Charmed!

Well I have officially been charmed, by a lovely dark curly headed fellow. He was completely sweet natured, and the obvious apple of grandmother's eye. I have to say, there is no better job in the world then photographing the tiny moments of children. I was espeacially thrilled when I got a terrific snuggle from this little guy at the end of his photo session. Mom and Grandmother, hope you all enjoy this sneak peak! Thanks for letting me capture him on his first birthday!

Senior Session Reminder. I just wanted to remind those of you that have contacted me about Senior Sessions, that I can only take a limited number; this is due to the time, and custom nature of the session, often which involves some travel and scoping out cool locations and getting the best light. I currently only have two openings left for this month. Thanks! Danielle

One More!!

I think this photo looks like a music cover, had to put it up!

"You are a great champion. When you ran the ground shook. The sky opened and mere mortals parted. Parted the way to victory, where you will meet me in the winners circle. Where I will lay a blanket of flowers on your back".. from the movie Dreamer. I wanted to add this great line in.. because the whole time I was doing this photo session, I thought about Dakota Fanning and her horse. Why? Well, Miss A.. is a talented Senior, who brought along her beloved horse for pictures. It was very clear how much she loved that horse..also very clear how her dad was so very proud of her. And Hats off to you dad raising a wonderful daughter. Their whole relationship just reminded me of that sweet movie.
We had an awesome location to shoot at, and thanks goes out to the Perneta family was well as the Waveland family. We had barns, an old car, and it was all too much fun to do a senior photo shoot like that! Well, this is your little Sneak Peak, and I will post more soon!

Also I wanted to note that our website address is now www.simplegracephotography.com
Thanks!

Do you remember your very first friend? Well, I do and I am lucky enough to still be friends with her. We just finished a mini session with sweet baby M, and will finish up with some photos of Dad and the family. My grandmothers dear friend once told me, "its so important to have people who knew you when you where younger, cause those people still see you that way". And I think that is so true, no matter how old we get I will always know what you were like at five dear Kristy. Well hope you enjoy this little sneak peak! More to come later!

So, we are off to a great start this year. Lots of New things coming, so keep checking back!!
This is my first post of 2007, and I think its pretty great! Grandmother from Sweden brought over this PiPi outfit, and we had to get some pictures in this one, so if you are reading this "Farmor", that's Swedish for Grandmother, you have a nice big picture of this coming in the mail soon!
As a reminder, Sessions are now booking for Seniors. This helps secure your date, so that we can get outdoors, and get some fun Portraits! Once your session is booked you will receive an information packet in the mail.

These are some recent photos from a shoot at waveland. I have to say I love these photos for so many reasons. First of all they sweet little girls that I know well. But as I was proofing their photos I just melted at the idea of having a sister. Wow, a best friend to follow you all your life. I think that during this time of season, we think alot about the gifts we give, but it is really more about the relationships we are taking care of in our own lives. And I was just really moved looking at these photos, and thinking about how great it is for them that they have each other, as friends and sisters.

So, how do you make friends with a horse? Well, you offer him your lollipop of course!

This is my little helper. She loved helping mommy rake some leaves, and had an even better time playing in them! What a gorgeous pile of fall leaves we collected, red, yellow, orange, and brown. There is something so magical about fall, I just wish it could last longer! Anyway, my daughter giggled so hard, when we jumped into that pile of leaves, it just made me think about how there is no toy on earth that can produce that kind of laughter. Its the deep satisfied laugh of a child spending time with her parent, and having fun! I sure do love that baby!

So, its that time of year again, when the weather begins to cool off, and the days begin to settle into winter. I took this photo of an apple tree at Jackson's Orchard, a few weeks ago. There is something so calming about being surrounded by all kinds of wonderful apple trees, and pumpkins! It also makes me think of one of my all time favorite characters in a book, Anne of Green Gables. I can just see her sitting on a hill in Avonlea, looking down on a great big field of apple trees, and contemplating how majestic it all is. "Its just that I went looking for my ideas outside of myself. I discovered it's not what the world holds for you, its what you bring to it. The dreams dearest to my heart are right here." -Anne of Green Gables
